A few words from the old ball coach, on playing UF yesterday
"This team is a lot better than the one two years ago (that won the national championship)," Spurrier said after the game. "I said they had a chance (in '06) because they won all the close ones. This team that they have now is a lot stronger than that one, in my opinion."

Rob, As you know, I was at The Swamp. It was raining but I didn't notice the rain. I was mesmerized by the Gators' play. They are good. I mean, they are really good. I mean really, really, really, really, really good. At one point in the first quarter they scored 3 touchdowns in about a minute: With 4:37 left in first quarter Brandon Hicks intercepted Smelly and took it downtown. We kicked off to the Cocks and then on the Cocks first snap (30 seconds after the Hicks TD w/4:07 left) Ahmad Black intercepted Smelly again and took it downfield. Gators got set. Tebow handed off to Harvin. Beautiful misdirection. Touchdown!!! We kicked off again to the Cocks. Spurrier got fancy tried a lateral on the first snap. Lateral was muffed. James Smith picked it up and took it in for a called touchdown. Video review said he was down a foot from the end zone. No problem. Seconds later Tebow blew through the best D line in the SEC for a third score. 21-0 in about a minute. Then Pope Urban looked up to the box where offensive coordinator Dan Mullen was sitting, spoke into the microphone, and said: "On my signal, unleash hell." Moments later he raised his right hand and the furies were let loose. We went insane for awhile. Absolutely crazy. Gators scored like they were possessed, like there was no tomorrow. The Swamp was rockin'. Spurrier kept throwing his visor and headset on the ground. No disrespect to Yogi Berra but it was over way before it was over! It was legendary. I have never seen a Gator team play this well. Go Gators!
Hats off to the Gators. Crushing top 25 teams with an ease not seen often in these parts. This is the stuff of legend!!
So happy for my primos! I told my son, Jose, when we were watching the Gators dismantling the Gamecocks, "hey, did you know your cousins are at this game?" He got really pumped for you guys.
Gator Heaven. We are witnesses to history. What a team!!!

Thanks Victor, Hope we can give your son Jose many highlight reels to enjoy in the next few weeks. It was terrific to be at The Swamp Saturday. It was a drizzly - misty kind of day. Almost like we were playing in a slight fog which gave the whole game a surreal feel. There was a terrific flyover by four F-14 Tomcats in tight diamond formation. They came out of a Grey mist and really shook up the stadium before the game. Then the Gators took over and the place started rocking!!! Pure classic College Football. What fun! I really hope we can keep it up. The better we get the more I worry. Citadel should not be any problem, though. Frankly it should be a scrimmage. It looks like SC will finish out the season without any trouble. You guys are very much in the mix. Keep Blogging!!!

Thanks. It looks like SC can finish no higher than #3 or #4. That comes from ESPN on the radio this morning. Too many teams in front of us and, even though some may lose, it is unlikely that enough teams will fall below us for us to get to #2, which is what we need to get into the big game.
How about this scenario: Oklahoma beats Texas Tech this Saturday (possible). Either Oklahoma or Texas loses to Missouri in the Big-12 championship game (unlikely). Florida beats Alabama in the SEC championship game (a near sure thing). We climb to #2 and play the Gators in the big one. What do you think? Or, if Texas Tech beats the Sooners, then loses to Mizzou, Oklahoma would be knocked out with 2 losses. Texas gets upset by A & M (impossible), and they are knocked out with 2 losses. That would leave you, us, and Alabama. You guys take care of business and the Trojans play the Gators. WOW! That sounds like it is possible.

Amen, primo; Amen. Although, it does not appear likely. Too many Big-12 teams in front of us. Barring a miracle, we cannot break into the top 2.

Well, I'm holding my breath. We have to plow through FSU and Alabama. FSU is a historic rivalry game and those cabronskis can lose every game and somehow manage to beat us. Nothing would give the 'Noles greater pleasure and bring meaning to their season than to spoil our NC aspirations. Then Nick Saban... He's an extremely dangerous man. He barely got to 'Bama a couple of years ago and he's got them lined up for the big one. You can be sure that he is leaving no stone unturned. Our not- so-secret weapon is blinding speed. We are way faster than Bama but I'm sure his diabolical mind is working on ways to neutralize our speed and turn it into a grinding old-fashioned game. Anyway, every day that goes by I get more butterflies in my stomach!!! At least I'll be able to relax Saturday at the Swamp. Weather should be perfect -- sunny, mid 60's-- and we'll get a chance to see our bench & most of our seniors play... even those on the scout team. Good luck this week!
